LG 49WL95C-W Review

LG 49WL95C-W Review

The LG 49WL95C-W and the Dell UltraSharp 49 Curved Monitor (U4919DW) share identical functionality. It provides a massive amount of display area, allowing you to comfortably fit three programs side by side and keep them in view at full-screen size. It’s an excellent choice if you wish to boost your multitasking by simultaneously running many windows on its large screen.

Design and Setup:

The LG UltraWide 49WL95C Curved monitor is enormous; even the stand-alone version will take up a lot of space on your desk. If you work in a small office cubicle, this isn’t the monitor for you because it will likely cut your available area in half. However, if you don’t have a friend, family member, or coworker to assist you with the heavy lifting, you’ll have trouble moving the monitor onto the stand that comes with it.

A joyous OSD Experience:

On the rear of the LG 49WL95C-W, towards the right edge, is a mini-joystick menu controller. These controllers are typically seen on gaming monitors, although they are rarely seen on general-purpose displays. It’s a lot easier to operate this monitor’s OSD with this joystick than it was with the Dell UltraSharp 49’s five tiny buttons.

Specs and Features:

The LG UltraWide 49WL95C Curved Monitor boasts a 49-inch curved display with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels that will dominate pretty much any room you put it in. It isn’t the sharpest, but it is enough sharp for everyday use, video editing, and a little gaming. The build quality is robust and premium-feeling, HDR 10 is supported, and you can connect two devices to the screen and use half of the available space for each.

Good sRGB Color Accuracy:

The LG 49WL95C-W display claims to cover 99 percent of the sRGB color spectrum. It scored just above that in our tests, and its contrast ratio was somewhat higher than LG’s 1,000:1 rating. The monitor’s rated luminance (brightness per unit area) is 350 candelas per meter squared (nits), however, we found it to be 355.3 nits when we measured it.

Good For Video, and Sound:

The ultra-wide aspect ratio of the 49WL95C-W results in two black bars that take over half of the screen. The video playback on the display appeared good, with bright and genuine colors. It comes with a pair of 10-watt speakers that deliver good loudness and sound quality. If you want to utilize headphones and plug them straight into the panel, there is a 3.5mm audio-out port. LG offers a one-year guarantee, but you may upgrade to a longer one for a fee.
